Pastor Sonny and Brittany's Blog
Monday, 13 February 2012

This week’s blog is simple it is a quote that I read in my daily devotion.

FAITH SEES THE INVISIBLE believes the unbelievable and receives the impossible!

How BIG is your FAITH? Can you believe in a God that you can’t see, that others may doubt and that does impossible things?

Just as a caterpillar goes into a cocoon we are transformed through Jesus Christ. We can’t see what’s going on in that cocoon but we know that a beautiful butterfly comes out.  Sometimes we just have to rely on our FAITH that a transformation really is taking place in our lives.

Romans 12:2 “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove that the will of God is, good, acceptable and perfect”

See you soon!

What, Where, Why?

This week in Synergy we are talking about how God is in control even in the midst of uncertainty.

We all have dreams or something that we would really like to have happen but is out of our control. Your dream might be to become a professional athlete, a music artist, make a lot of money or open up a charity for the less fortunate. One of my dreams is to run a marathon one day. But, unfortunately we all have fears too. You might fear that you’re not strong enough to become a professional athlete or can’t sing well enough to become a famous music artist. I fear that I am not strong enough to run a marathon.

The truth is that no matter how well you plan or how hard you work, no one can guarantee that your dreams will come true, or that your fears will stay away. You might get drafted into the NBA or you might end up being a high school coach. You might get a recording contract or you might by a praise team leader at church.

The only guarantee that we have is this: Jesus has the future under control.  Sometimes that doesn’t sound very reassuring. But when we realize what it means and trust that it’s true, it can make a BIG difference in our lives. Sometimes I think we spend hours awake at night searching for what our purpose is in life and asking God where we fit in? What am I suppose to be doing? What does my future look like? The truth is none of us know exactly what God had in mind when he created us but we do know one thing that if we trust in him and not ourselves he will make sure we fulfill all the plans he has for us. So whenever you start to doubt what you are doing here remember Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

See you Wednesday for Synergy at 7pm!

Love,

So what’s next?

We are done with 21 days of fasting and I am so proud of all of you. I saw each of you really dig into what fasting is and stay committed to your time with God. So what do we do now that we are back to eating, texting and facebooking.

It is important to remember that fasting is not just a once a year 21 day thing.  You should continue to stay in prayer and your bible every day. Continue with your time with God just as you were fasting. Remember that fasting is the physical act for a spiritual result so after your fasting you should be spiritually ready to take on anything in 2012!

When should I fast again? You don’t have to wait to fast again until next year you can fast anytime you feel like you need to. Anytime you feel overwhelmed, weighed down or need answers from God about a situation in your life empty out all the distractions by fasting so you can hear God clearly.

This month in IGNITE our series is going to be called MY DECLARATION Acts 22:16 says 16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’ Are you ready to make your DECLARATION and be water baptized?

See you in IGNITE!

Just Keep Swimming….

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.

It is the last week of fasting and I know it can be getting harder by the day. Remember this verse in Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak”. As you finish out your fast this week remember to rely upon the Lord to give you strength. Your body is weak and will want what you are fasting from but remember you are building your Spirit Man by fasting so that he will be stronger than your flesh! Sunday we talked about how fasting is a lot like waiting. Sometimes we get impatient and don’t want to wait but by waiting we get a clearer vision about what’s ahead of us. We can prepare for what is to come. Fasting is preparing you for what God has for you in 2012! Don’t cut in the line…wait for God to give a clear vision of what’s ahead this week!

Stay strong, stay committed, stay FASTING….we are almost there!

Don’t forget to end your fast right by joining Kingdom for the prayer shut in Saturday January 28th Girls at 6pm and Guys at 10pm.

See you soon!
